Amalia Dache is the Graduate College of Education’s initial tenured, feminine, Latinx professor.
Dache introduced the news of her professorship by using Twitter on February 27, and she commenced her tenure on July 1. Dache’s analysis focuses on how historical challenges and racial demographics influence accessibility to greater education in destinations this sort of as Havana, Cuba Cape Town, South Africa Ferguson, Missouri and her hometown of Rochester, New York.
She received a National Academy of Education/Spencer Postdoctoral Fellowship in 2020 for her research paper titled “Mapping Community Housing and City Greater Training Accessibility and Enrollment in Philadelphia.”
Dache advised AL DÍA Information that the region she grew up in was low money and experienced very handful of instructional methods.
Dache been given a bachelor’s diploma in English Literature from SUNY Brockport Point out College or university in 2003 and been given a master’s diploma in Liberal Research from SUNY Empire Condition College in 2009.

Dache was also awarded the University Study Basis grant in 2020 for her investigation job titled “Mysteries at the Base of the Ocean: A Racial and Political Hemispheric Evaluation of Schooling and Economic Mobility for Cuban Nationals and Refugees.”
Dache advised AL DÍA Information that getting a part design to doctorate students was vital to her, specifically as an Afro-Cuban American scholar.
